I have always taken a keen interest in all aspects of the wine industry despite having spent my entire career in the communications industry, From grape varieties, vineyard management, geography, winemaking processes, and how these factors combine to create the many and varied wines that I enjoy, I have always enjoyed increasing my knowledge and expertise to the extent some of my friends refer to me as a wine connoisseur (which amuses me somewhat as I Still consider myself very mush a student).

Mid-career I considered a career move into the wine industry and investigated the types of training courses available to facilitate a move. But at that time, any serious studies required full-time commitment, and, with a young family to support, this was not a viable option.  My wine connoisseur lifestyle had to be put on hold!

More recently I have embarked upon formal training with the Wines and Spirits Education Trust (WSET), gaining merits in both levels 2 and 3, and am currently studying for a diploma in wine which should be completed by the end of 2023.

Now, towards the end of my career, I have decided to go it alone and set up this venture as a means of sharing my enjoyment of wine and the many facets involved in producing the wide variety of aromas and flavours to be enjoyed from the many and varied styles of wine available.

Now I’m ready to indulge the wine connoisseur in me and, hopefully, to educate and entertain fellow wine lovers just like you along the way. With travel blogs detailing where to find the best wines and supermarket picks, I hope I can use the power of the internet to share my love of wine. And, of course, I’d love to meet some of you face-to-face in wine-tasting sessions so that we can all enjoy a glass or two together.
